Marketing Executive (German speaking)

As the result of a merger between two very successful travel companies – TravelLocal in the UK and trip me in Germany – we are growing quickly and looking for some fresh faces to help shape our future.

The successful applicant will work within our English-speaking in-house marketing team to work primarily on social media and email newsletters, coming up with creative campaign ideas, providing community management for our German-language social media channels and translating English into German for email newsletters and web copy.

A flair for copywriting is essential and you’ll be an effective communicator and enthusiastic team player, while also comfortable researching and developing your skills independently.

Please note: This role can be based in either the UK or Germany

Challenges and opportunities

  • Developing strategies and campaigns (organic and paid) to increase brand awareness and customer engagement on social channels
  • Creating and building emails for different source markets
  • Reporting on social media and email performance, and analysing data to adjust activity accordingly
  • Communicating with key stakeholders to ensure social and email content aligns with wider priorities within the company
  • Owning the upkeep of the marketing database and finding creative ways to increase subscribers
  • Setting measurable goals for campaigns and showing ROI
  • Assisting the Content & Brand Manager with creating, uploading and maintaining website content (with SEO in mind)
  • Supporting the Content & Brand Managers with projects, campaigns and activities when required
  • Fostering engagement and respond quickly to comments and messages on our DACH-market social media channels
  • Localizing English-language marketing materials including email newsletters, social media posts, press releases and web copy for the DACH market
  • Working independently while connecting and collaborating with the marketing team to align on ideas, campaigns and OKRs
  • Producing all content at a native German level


  • At least two years of experience in a similar role, including social media management
  • Strong copywriting experience and examples
  • Native level German language skills
  • Fluent in English
  • The ability to translate between English and German
  • An interest in travel


  • £27k-£30k depending on experience (40 hours per week)
  • 25 day’s annual leave
