Work from almost anywhere
At TravelLocal we love working with our local partners around the world. Since that works quite well, we couldn’t imagine not giving our team members the opportunity to work from almost anywhere. We are a remote-first company which means that you can work from home, your friend’s place in another city or from one of our two offices whenever you like. After checking in with your line manager you also have the opportunity to work from anywhere that allows you to be around for our core hours. Every once in a while you may even be able to work from anywhere that covers half a working day in Germany or the UK.
Truly flexible working arrangements
Being a remote first company allows us to offer you truly flexible working arrangements. We celebrate individuality with the trips we offer on our platform so it’s important to us to celebrate individuality among our team members. While we ask that you’re generally available for meetings during our core hours, you can structure the remainder of your working day however you need to. You need to take a two hour lunch break to run some errands? Absolutely fine. You want to knock out a couple of hours at dawn before your kid wakes up? Go for it. Our core hours are from 10:00 – 15:00 in the UK or 11:00 – 16:00 in Germany. Outside of our meetings we’re set up asynchronously so you can actually get work done without constant interruptions. No instant notifications unless you want them.
Personal Development Budget
At TravelLocal, team members get a yearly budget for self-improvement, home office upgrades and travel. The budget can be used in a variety of ways, from booking a trip on our platform, to buying a standing desk for your home office or upgrading your router. Have you been wanting to learn a language? Now’s the time, use the budget on language classes, coding classes or any other training that doesn’t directly relate to your role. Have you always wanted to explore Berlin or Bristol? Use the budget to travel to our office in either city and get to know the local team. We can’t wait to see what you’ll use it for.
Discounts for you and your family
We want our team members to experience the magic of a TravelLocal holiday. Whenever you book a trip on our platform, we’ll waive our commission to give you a discount while still protecting our partners. Whenever you’re not part of the travel group you can give friends & family 10% off their trip with us.
Travelling with the company
While we are remote first, we like seeing each other face-to-face from time to time. This is why we have two all company offsites a year. One is either in Berlin or Bristol while the other is somewhere in the European Union or UK. We love collaborating with our team members from the same room, getting to know each other over dinner and making memories together during our social activities. A TravelLocal offsite is the perfect blend of work & social time.
If you haven’t worked in travel before, let us introduce you to FAM trips. These are a unique opportunity to get to know a country and its tourism guided by our wonderful local partners. From time to time, our local partners will put together a familiarisation trip and invite team members from various companies. While these opportunities are rare and never guaranteed, they are a nice surprise when they come up.
